Bengali Saree

1.Take the inner section of your saree and start draping it from your right waist side. Tuck the saree neatly and complete one drape and stop just at the right side (from where you started).

2.Take the end of the saree or pallu section and start making pleats (4-5 inches). You would need the pleat section with quite a length.

3.Throw the pleated pallu from your left shoulder and pin them with your blouse.

4.There would be a triangular portion at the front. Take that to your back waist side and tuck it near your left waist side.

5.Pull your pallu to the front from under your arms and then open the pleats. Take the corner part of the fabric and pin it on the top of your shoulder.

Gujrati Saree

Gujrati women love to drape in their traditional form of saree. And this is how this indigenous form of culture is still protected by them. Gujarati style saree drape is also known Siddha palla saree drape as the saree pallu comes in the front and extend to cover the whole bodice.

1.Choose georgette or chiffon sarees or Lehariya sarees for this method.

2.Start the tucking of saree from the right side of the waist and complete one circle of drape till you reach the same area where you started.

3.Leave some length of the fabric and tuck in a little portion at the right side of the waist.

4.Bring the saree around the person. Bring it to the front again.

5.Make pleats of the pallu while keeping the length short. Then pin the pallu over the right should, letting the pallu fall at the front the side.

6.Now start making pleats of the fabric that you left at the front before and tuck it in the centre.

7.Take a corner potion of your Siddha pallu and take it to the back of the left waist and pin it. This will cover your whole bodice.

Nivi Style Saree

Most of saree drapes that you see commonly around you is Nivi drape. This is one of the basic saree drapes, which can be donned in just a few minutes. Draw the pallu end, start making pleats and pinned on the left shoulder. The front drape of the saree goes across the shoulder and you can keep 5-6 inches pleats in the basic Nivi look.

Pant Style Saree

First of all, replace your regular petticoat with a pair of leggings or pants. If you desire to wear a comfy blouse instead of a designer blouse, you can pick one of your plain crop tops.

Let’s start the draping part by making front pleats first. Make 7-8 pleats in a synthetic saree and much lesser in cotton sarees.
